After
taking a short boat trip we arrived at another island of Venice. Upon arrival
we were greeted by a guide who showed us around the museum and basilica. We
were told about the 24 carat gold covering the ceiling and the symbolism of the
paintings covering the walls along with general history of Venice.
After
the tour we were given free time to have lunch and spend some money and then again
we were on a boat to the island of Murano to see a demonstration of glass
blowing. While looking so simple, the technique was very technical and
confusing, but the artist looked like he had been blowing glass for a million
years and had everything down to a T. After this, we then had some free time
for shopping, although the majority of the group went home after a long hard
day of walking steps, boat trips and shopping.
